Easter presents!

Well, my girl and her wee family visited over Easter and we had lovely chocolate eggs from our grand daughter Ivy E. In return I gave them my quilled and newly framed picture which they really liked and were very happy in turn this made me feel that all the work has been worth it. I am now sourcing box frames to continue with this idea for other quilled crafting in the future...but I do want to do rubber stamping too ....have just received some of the Gorjuss girl stamps from Funkykits ...am going to have a go at it later this week...so watch this space!! I hope all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed watching the Royal Wedding yesterday, so glad the weather was good for all those crowds that were there in person. We are going to a car boot sale tomorrow so fingers crossed we don't have to bring a lot back after filling the car with loads from the loft.......it is stuffed with things too good to throw out but we have grown out of using.....fingers crossed. I have to get my ladders out now to climb into the loft to try and sort some saleable stuff out, bye for now!

Easter Greetings...

My wee grand daughter is visiting with her ma and pa for the weekend ...going back home today. I gave them their present of the framed quilling and think they liked it...well they seemed impressed! My daughter's partner even suggested that I should make them to sell! We'll see....... It has been a restful weekend so far.....but wee baby girl is teething and is fretful so not THAT restful....hey ho! Have to go and make some breakfast now ......x

A Little Bit Wonky......but hey-ho!!

Well, finally cut out my mountboard and used the cut away piece to centre my quilling creation but it was not too straight I'm  afraid! But, as I had stuck it down beforehand it was too late to alter it....learned from my mistake here.....next time will be better...hopefully. Have plans to present the finished quilled picture to my daughter and her partner for their Easter surprise so hope they like it. Hope you have a lovely Easter but don't eat too much chocolate in case you get sick!!!!! :)

Who said mount board cutting was easy?

Well, have been slow to write on here for a wee while due to visiting family and dog walking and other reasons....for example, I bought mountboard and cutting tools for same online for framing my quilling project [which is turning into a marathon by the way] as I want it to look good for giving as a present to my daughter and her partner....anyway....my order finally came and I toddled upstairs to where I had a pasting table set up for cutting practise. The VERY large sheet of board was cut to fit a 12x12 frame, I used the back of the frame as a template then proceeded to make a complete hash of the first trial cut. Following the instructions for the cutting tool was simple and I followed it to the letter, but when I turned the mountboard over to the right side [you cut from the back of the board for a 'bevelled edge] I found that the corners were ragged and not very neat at all.....never mind, I thought, first attempt.....ha!! After the third 'go' I was tearing the hair out and decided to leave anymore cutting for another day when I was not so fraught. Today I feel less fraught so am going to have another go later this afternoon....bye for now.

Mum's day afterthoughts

Well, that's Mother's Day over for another year.. I was given some beautiful beads and charms for my card crafting from my girl,Lynsey, and a funny card.....Meerkat's seem to be in vogue just now! But it made me laugh. I am awaiting delivery of a 'mountboard cutter' for my quilling project which seems to be becoming a marathon task.....but I will get there eventually, just have to have patience. I printed out the information  onto pearlised paper on my laser printer then ran it through my foiling machine and it was excellent! Unfortunately, when I matted and layered it onto some holographic silver card I got stuck on the adhesive and it was very 'wonky' ...not straight at all....sigh....so now I have to print the whole thing out again and this time use repositionable glue instead of the double sided tape, suppose this is how you learn...hohum! good job I 'saved' the info on my computer!! I just have to print it out again thank goodness.....think I will print out more than just one copy. I had a bit of a blowout on the old bank balance last week when Craft Robo Lite was featured on 'Create and Craft' tv. and it was delivered on Saturday......haven't had a play yet as not had time...too busy trying to clear the winter's devastation on my back garden.....more bin bags please!!!
